The GALILEO Databases for Computer Sciences are a great place to begin your search, especially if you are looking for scholarly articles.  Click on a specific database below, enter your specific search terms, and browse the articles.  You may need to visit the library to get the GALILEO password if you plan on using GALILEO off-campus.

 
        
    Georgia Code

   

  The Georgia Code, hosted by LexisNexis, is the compilation of the laws of the state of Georgia that are currently in force. The database is searchable by keyword and by code number.
 
        
    Georgia General Assembly

  

  Georgia Legislative Services provides access to both Georgia House and Senate bills. The database is searchable by keyword, bill number, code section, authors, co-signers, and committee sponsors.
 
        
    Georgia Legislative Documents

 

  The database currently contains the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia for the years 1799-1999, with a few gaps. In the future, additional documents will be added to include the Journal of the House of Representatives of the State of Georgia and the Journal of the Senate of the State of Georgia.
 

        
  LexisNexis Academic

  

  LexisNexis Academic contains approximately 5,000 publications, virtually all include full text. Many types of publications are included: newspapers (in English, other languages, and translations of international papers), legal news, general interest magazines, medical journals, trade publications, company financial information, transcripts, wire service reports, government publications (such as the federal case law, U.S. Code, Code of Federal Regulations, Congressional Testimony, etc.), law reviews, and reference works (such as the Forbes Annual Directory, the Official Guide/American Marketplace and the US Global Trade Outlook).

  Westlaw is an online database for American legal research. Published by a Thompson company, Westlaw offers full-text access to law reviews and bar journals as well as American law reports and legislation.

Content: The ABA boasts over 400,000 as a professional association with voluntary membership.  The site offers information about law school accreditation, information about law topics for consumers under "Public Information", continuing education resources for legal professionals, educational publications and fact books by topic, as well as resources for locating and hiring a lawyer.  The section entitled "Consumer's Guide to Legal Help" offers state-specific resources for handling legal issues without a lawyer, understanding the state's court system, and how to address problems with a lawyer's service.

Content: NAAG provides resources focusing on cooperation and collaboration between the Attorneys General as chief legal officers of their respective states.  The site includes a list of all of the Attorneys General by state, as well as contact information for the state office.  A few reports from the association are available online in the "Press Room" section under "Publications."  Under the "Policy Statements" section, visitors may also browse resolutions, policy statements, and sign-on letters.

Content: An association for the nation's District Attorney's, NDAA provides many of their resources directory to members via a logon; however, visitors may download NDAA policies on certain issues, such as cybercrime, the death penaly, and forensics in the "Issues" section.  The "Publication" section offers newsletter links, as well as downloadable publications on specific issues and NDAA National Prosecution Standards.  Other publications are available for a fee.
